Search Home Care Organizations that appear in California Community Care Licensing open data. Use this list to find a name, city, county, and license number, then confirm the current status on the official CDSS facility search.
A listing here is a copy of public license data, not an endorsement, ranking, or review. County Community Care Licensing and CDSS decide whether an organization is licensed.
Start with a county if you are helping a parent near home. Agency pages show the license number and a link to verify it.
A license is the starting point, not the whole picture. Ask how the agency hires and trains aides, who supervises visits, and how they handle a missed shift.
1. Confirm the license
Match the name and facility number to the CDSS Community Care Licensing facility search. Ask what the current status is if the open-data file looks stale.
2. Ask who will be in the home
Request the aide's background-check process, training, and whether you can meet the person before the first visit.
3. Write down hours and tasks
Private home care is a contract between the family and the agency. Get the rate, overtime, and cancellation terms in writing from the agency. This site does not quote prices.
4. Plan a backup
Ask what happens if the regular aide is sick. Families often keep a short list of two agencies plus, when it applies, an IHSS provider.
They can appear in the same household, but they are different programs. IHSS is a county Medi-Cal benefit that can pay a family member or other individual provider. A Home Care Organization is a licensed business that sends aides under a private agreement.
